I think there are lots of m/m profics that are Age of Sail fanfics with the serial numbers filed off. I know we have one at Book Sale. (I almost typed "Sail"!)

I'm afraid, though, that *any* kind of quickie genre book, irrespective of the gender and preferences of its protagonists, is probably going to be pretty disappointing from the literary point of view--the customers are usually looking for the equivalent of fast food, and that's certainly the easiest and cheapest for the publishers to provide.
