Contains: fandoms and fannishness, gender and trans issues, queerness, sometimes politics, sometimes personal stuff. As of this update (January 2024) I'm in an odd place fannishly, having drifted away a bit from Our Flag Means Death but not found a new fandom. (I'm fond of Taskmaster but it doesn't quite seem to have become The One.)
I've been in fandom for over 20 years now, and I've been in a lot of fandoms along the way. The tags will help you find stuff if you're interested in old posts.
I write fic sometimes. All of them except the occasional drabble are available on AO3 and I link to them here when I post over there.
As for me, I'm a gay transgender man, an ex-academic now returned to the working class, an atheist but not an anti-theist, politically somewhere left of liberal, a devoted but not uncritical Anglophile, fat, bookish, occasionally gloomy. My username, if you were wondering, comes from a nickname given to the playwright Christopher Marlowe. He was notoriously sharp-tongued and ill-tempered, so his (few) friends called him "kind Kit."
