Hi I read your Colditz posts to understand the fic you wrote. It surprised me that you didn't mention Band of Brothers (or did I miss that?) since it was huge back in the day and some fantastic fanfic came out of the fandom (I could rec some if you are interested).
My very first fandom on LJ (which resulted in getting an account there and stop lurking) was Black Hawk Down. I love war stories and was excited to see so much interest in Generation Kill (about the war in iraq) but the fanfic there usually deals with post-war or AU scenarios so it's rather disappointing.
