So far today I have ignored celebrated the US's Independence Day by eating the traditional meal of dry-spiced potatoes and cauliflower with fried eggs, lime pickle, and yogurt. (Okay, possibly not traditional. Possibly, considering the inclusion of the fried eggs, not traditional anywhere. But good.)

Later, I will celebrate some more by going to work.

Yay?

You know, if the 13 colonies had stayed British, we'd have national health care now. And same-sex almost-marriage. Just sayin'.

That meal sounds damned good to me! Anyway, in Indonesia the addition of a fried egg on top makes a meal the special version. :-)

Heh, I'll call it Indian-Indonesian fusion, then! Actually there are some Indonesian recipes in my beloved new cookbook (when I got the recipe for the dry-spiced potatoes and cauliflower), but I haven't gotten around to trying them yet.
