Granada Sherlock Holmes does get a little squirrelly towards the end of the series - I think it's a combination of the stories are getting a bit out there (monkey glands!) and Jeremy Brett's illness. (Although, the one where Watson and Mycroft work together was lots of fun - the one with the submarine plans, I think? - and really touching when Sherlock appeared for the final scene.)
