another round of the ficlet project

You may have noticed that I haven't been writing fanfic. This is bad. So in an attempt to pull myself out of this long slump, I'm starting another round of the ficlet project.

How It Works

The first commenter on this post, on DW or LJ, gets to request a ficlet by naming a fandom from the list below, a character or pairing, and a brief prompt (perhaps a word or phrase, perhaps a situation or time period, even a structure or writing style--I just ask that you don't give me a highly specific plot or a prompt that's too detailed for a 100-word drabble). I'll write a short piece (100-1000 words) and post it in a day or two. Then the first commenter on that post gets to request the next ficlet. (You do NOT have to make a substantive comment on the posted ficlet in order to request, so don't feel obliged if you don't know or like the fandom, the pairing, or whatever.)

Anyone can request; this isn't limited to people whose journals I read. The only rule about requesting is that I'd prefer not to write two ficlets for the same person in the same round. So once I've written something for you in this round, please hold back to give others a chance.

I'd love to get a variety of fandoms and prompt types, but there are a few things I don't write: sexually explicit m/f and f/f, rape, pairings where one or both partners are under 14, heavy kink or BDSM (e.g. anything involving special equipment, serious pain, danger, unusual body fluids).

Otherwise, feel free to be creative in your request. If you ask for something I can't deliver, I'll just ask for a different prompt.

Below the cut are the fandoms I'm willing and able to write.

TV
Doctor Who (Second, Third, Fifth, Eighth [including EDA novels], Ninth, Tenth, and Eleventh Doctors)
The Doug Anthony All Stars (both RPF and fictional-world [e.g. DAAS Kapital] prompts are fine)
Star Trek: Deep Space Nine

Secondary TV (I'm willing to try these, but they're fandoms where I'm not actively fannish and/or feel shaky on the canon):

Blake's 7
The Fast Show/Ted and Ralph
Horatio Hornblower
Hyperdrive
Lewis
Luther
Sherlock
Spaced
Star Trek TOS

Movies
Dark Harbor
Hot Fuzz
Lawrence of Arabia and A Dangerous Man: Lawrence After Arabia
Scott Pilgrim
Shaun of the Dead
X-Men 1-3
Various gay movies (e.g. Maurice, My Beautiful Laundrette, The Talented Mr. Ripley, etc. If it's got gay men in it, chances are good that I've seen it and could try to write it.)
Other--feel free to ask, and if I don't know it, I'll just ask you to pick a different fandom.

Books
Pat Barker's Regeneration trilogy
Raymond Chandler's Marlowe novels
Arthur Conan Doyle's Sherlock Holmes stories and novels
C. S. Forester's Horatio Hornblower novels
Reginald Hill's Dalziel and Pascoe novels
John Le Carré's Smiley novels, plus Absolute Friends and A Naive and Sentimental Lover
China Miéville's Bas Lag novels
Terry Pratchett's Discworld novels
J.K. Rowling's Harry Potter series
Mary Renault's Greek novels and The Charioteer
Ruth Rendell's Wexford novels and most of her books written as Barbara Vine
Melissa Scott and Lisa A. Barnett's Points novels; also most of Scott's sf except the cyberpunk
Shakespeare and other English lit standards, especially medieval and Renaissance
Jeff Vandermeer's Ambergris novels
Other--feel free to ask.

Other
Comics: I'm not keeping up with any comics now, but I could try my hand at Hellblazer and anything in Alan Moore's Top Ten universe

RPF: British literature and history, 1485-1660

So, somebody make a request!

ETA: A request has been made (on LJ), so no more requests until I post the ficlet. But if you have questions or whatever, feel free to post them here.
