the morning news

SHOCK: TINTIN FANDOM STILL FULL OF HOMOPHOBES.

In other astounding developments, someone tries to explain it away as not really homophobia! Also, and folks this is completely unprecedented, [personal profile] kindkit gets angry!

For further insight into the mild-mannered Kit's startling descent into anger, see our previous article here (link goes to the LJ post because there's info in the comments about a Deviant Art community banning Tintin slash).

I have really, really, really got to stop (again) reading [livejournal.com profile] fandomsecrets. The proportion of anger to hilarity (or empathy, or interest) is all wrong.

Some time ago I saw something that made me got furious,a scene from Flight714 was posted in a Tintin group. As I recall Tintin was fighting with a gun. Someone said something like "What a fierce! Gays don´t do that!"

What?! Gays aren´t strong?! That ignorant fellow should know some of my gay friends!

Whatever who made that stupid comment didn´t even take in consideration that maybe someone in the group could be gay...worst, they consider disrespectful to Hergé all the slash art but some of who have that opinion draws Tintin masturbating or having explicit sex with a woman. If there´s not a matter of being homophobic, like they also claim, why just the slash is disrespectful? They alleged that although some stories and art are beautiful people should be careful and avoid the "non-canonical" situations. Oh really? Well I never saw Tintin kissing a woman in the comics, much less having sex with! Or masturbating! So please give me a better argument!

Bah...sorry the outburst but people can be so mean...

Yeah you had the right decision. In slash groups you know you´ll never see unpleasant words. Unless someone anti-slash could enter there...
