knit in the webbing of the rifle-thong
On a happier note than my previous post (locked because boringly personal), here is a picture demonstrating that British (?)1 officers (?)2 do sometimes cuddle each other.
1The picture is identified as being by, or possibly of, British architect and photographer Montague Glover, who served in the First World War. The uniforms look vaguely British to me, but I am not skilled in identifying uniforms and insignia.
2I'm assuming this from the Sam Browne belts. I really need to get a decent reference book on First and Second World War uniforms.
ETA: A bit more internet research suggests that these men are indeed wearing British officers' uniforms.
