Christmas in January

[livejournal.com profile] halotolerant, your package arrived! Apparently it was delivered to someone else in my apartment complex, who then brought it to the management office. Thank you so much for the lovely presents! I'm so glad they weren't actually lost in the mail.

(For the curious: a copy of a world wars sticker book in which you dress all the people up in their uniforms, or in other worlds the coolest thing ever (there are little sticker rats to put in the trenches!), and also a copy of Jane Stevenson's novel London Bridges, which is described on the back cover as a "classic English crime novel" featuring among other things "a sixth-century manuscript of a homoerotic poem." Halo knows my tastes very, very well.)

I liked London Bridges but have never liked her later work as much (this may be due to picking one up in a bookshop, finding a character going to research something at My Place of Work, and the details being cringemakingly/hilariously inaccurate).
elaineofshalott: Lord Asriel as played by Daniel Craig, looking keenly interested, with the Hamlet quote "More things in Heaven & Earth". (than are dreamt of)

I want that book! [goes to look] You can get the wars separately too, plus Star Wars. I wish I didn't know that. Buying things from overseas is so expensive. Oh well.

It annoys me that when I searched for sticker books, it came up with books for girls and for boys. [spit] I'd always go for the boys' ones, but why the hell do they have to discriminate anyway? It should be by interests, not gender.

[Edit] Oh and they have Romans too. Damn damn damn. Maybe I'll treat myself for my birthday.
