Least favourite episode

That honor has to go to 3x09, "The Crossing." Not only did it kill off a character I was very fond of, but in order to make her death more melodramatic, established characterization was wantonly disregarded, with a Reese/Carter romance there'd never been a hint of before (or, mercifully, since) appearing out of thing air so that John could cry. Cheaply manipulative, fridgey, and horrible.

That calmly sums up fandom's reaction to the episode nicely. Posts employed capslock of rage and flailing and pages-long meta on egregious misstep of Carter's death.

My original post, made right after I watched the episode, had more rage and capslock. I'm calmer now that the show seems to have found its bearings again, but I still think it was a terrible episode.
