bite the face of god, Jonny!
I blame
rydra_wong for the fact that I just watched two hours of tabletop roleplaying that started out as a heist movie with bears, and ended up as . . . well, watch it and see, if you're in the mood for complete, awesome ridiculousness. With bonus blasphemy and Marxism.
(Yes, hour 2 is the correct place to start for this bit. No, I don't know why there's horrible elevator music in the background. It gets quieter eventually.)

Yeah, I initially had that reaction of: oh, here's a conventionally-attractive LOUD extrovert dude with strong labrador energy, is he the token Normal One, I just DO NOT GET people like that (and assume they will not get me or mine).
But he's obviously deeply nerdy, committed to supporting Mind for reasons of personal experience, and seems very sweet.
I have a feeling I'll end up watching Rusty Quill Streams now as well.
The Hatoful Boyfriend stream is amazing. Mike Tweeted about waking up the following day with his ribcage hurting, and I am not surprised.
And Anil does have good nail game.
He definitely has the consistently-strongest nail game among the RQ crew, though Jonny put in a fine showing at RQG 2019 (I may be biased because dark silver on short nails is extremely my #aesthetic).
I do enjoy how many of the RQ lot feel the livestreams and liveshows are Special Occasions that requires Dressing Up, but go in such wildly different directions with what that means.
Like, Alex has to wear his CEO Suit, Jonny has to have his eye makeup on point, Mike dyes his hair and wears fan-made t-shirts, Alasdair does lowkey cosplay with his sea captain's hat, Frank's hair is AMAZING, and of course we have Martyn's cow costume ...
(And then there are the people who just can't be arsed, which is also valid.)

And he hugs Alex. I approve of this, and not just because of my silly shippiness, and despite the fact that I am aware that Alex is married and presumably gets lots of hugs from his spouse. I am in favor of hugs for Alex.
In re: dressing up, I love Alex's "I am the CEO, kindly do not mistake me for a 16-year-old intern" blazers. And Mike's hair dye. And Frank's gorgeous hair. And Helen's pink t-shirt that says "Paladin." And Lydia's . . . everything, she's adorable.
Sadly Jonny doesn't seem to be wearing eye makeup in the 2018 stream, and there's been no sign of a cow costume or of Alasdair. I guess I'll have to watch the other streams too. What a shame!

Yes -- IMHO it just makes him look even more like a 16-year-old intern who is trying to look Grown-Up. I hope he never realizes this, because it's adorable.

It was quite nice in the 2019 stream (which I so hope they put online in its entirety at some point). And many people who went to the Magnus liveshow reported admiringly on his eyeliner.
Re: the cow costume, here is the moment from the 2019 stream when Grant Howitt's brain breaks:

Also here is this amazing photo which among other things features Alasdair's stealth cosplay (he got the captain's hat specially!):

So much this. (Incidentally, watching the Rusty Quill folks on video was a weird reminder for me of how young most of them are. I guess they're all around late 20s/early 30s, but that's a generation younger than me and I can't help finding it disconcerting. I've had other moments of generation-shock as well; someday I may make a post about Rusty Quill's default use of "they," which fascinates me, because they don't only use it for non-binary people and gender-unknown people, they tend to default to it even for people whose binary gender is known. It's not a usage I've heard from people my age.)
Thanks for the links! I'm surprised that Grant still hasn't listened to Magnus, but I guess it's just not his kind of thing. Or he doesn't have time, I guess.
And I love how much Alasdair and Ben lean into the Elias/Peter fan pairing. They clearly have a good time with it.

This was from the point in the 2019 stream when they were all applying temporary "Mind" tattoos to themselves because (for reasons unclear even to him) Mike had made that one of the donation milestones.

Yeah, I noticed that too, and it's fascinating -- like you, not familiar with that usage among people in the same age group as me.
