someday I may make a post about Rusty Quill's default use of "they," which fascinates me, because they don't only use it for non-binary people and gender-unknown people, they tend to default to it even for people whose binary gender is known.

Yeah, I noticed that too, and it's fascinating -- like you, not familiar with that usage among people in the same age group as me.
