I'm partway through the second episode of "Terminus," and . . . this is an AIDS allegory, right? I'm not just imagining that?

The date certainly works--1983 was, as I recall, towards the height of the AIDS panic, since the HIV virus wasn't yet confirmed as the cause and nobody knew for sure how the disease spread.

This story is giving me a very unnerving kind of déjà vu.

*nods* The allegory turned out not to be sustained, but the whole business of a stigmatized disease that no one wanted to talk about or admit they had, that led to rumors and panic, definitely struck a chord for me.

That fic sounds very cool. I'll have to see if I can find it.

Have you read Samuel R. Delany's "The Tale of Plagues and Carnivals"? It's in the third Néverÿon book, I think; Flight from Néverÿon.

I know of it, but I haven't read it, as I got bogged down partway through the second Neveryon book. I shall have to try again one of these days.

Funnily enough, the second book is the first Delany I ever read, and still my favorite.

It's by azarsuerte: The Centre of the Universe. It's Nine/Nyssa, Azar writes a very centred, very grown up Nyssa.

(There are some spoilers for Tegan's Big Finish story, also.)
