it is difficult not to write satire

Every once in a while I'm reminded of why I still read Language Log. Here's Geoff Nunberg's brilliant evisceration of Strunk and White's The Elements of Style, written in rhyming couplets à la Alexander Pope: An Essay on Criticism II.
