kindkit: A late-Victorian futuristic zeppelin. (ST DS9: Kira and Dax are fierce)
Does anyone know on what day of the week Garak and Bashir generally meet for lunch? I think it was mentioned in an episode. I've googled, checked Memory Alpha and the ship manifesto without success. Many thanks to anyone who can help!

(This was crossposted to the LJ comm [livejournal.com profile] doctor_tailor; apologies to anyone seeing it twice.)

ETA: I've now searched the transcript of every episode Garak was in and turned up nothing, so I guess I just imagined the reference. Sorry!

I watched the finale of DS9 last night.

Very brief thoughts )

Now that I need fear no spoilers, rec me things, please? Fanfic, vids, your favorite DS9 pro novels, whatever.

In fanfic, what I'm looking for is well-written stories that stay true to the characters. And DS9 is one of those rare fandoms where I'd be happy to read almost any genre of story about almost any character. I'm not especially looking for plot-heavy gen that doesn't do much character development, or porny/PWP stories except m/m, but anything else would be great.

Thanks!

I just watched DS9 7x23, "Extreme Measures." I don't have the time or energy to say anything in-depth about the show right now, but spoilers )

Here are some thoughts on 6x20 through 7x05 (except for "Profit and Lace," which I was advised to skip--I read an episode summary and that was quite enough).

I've actually seen through 7x10 at this point, but please don't mention anything spoilery for episodes after that.

Can I just say that I loathe Vic Fontaine? And he's in so damn many episodes! WTF, show? (I'm up to 7x10--please no spoilers past that.)

Extremely brief thoughts on stuff from 6x07 through 6x19, "In the Pale Moolight." (They were meant to be extremely brief thoughts. By the time I'd finished writing them up, they were not so brief.)

If you comment, please avoid metioning spoilers, even minor ones, for anything after that. Thanks!

I've now seen through 6x06, "Sacrifice of Angels." And I know why attempting to watch just the first part of a seven-part megastory before bed is a bad idea (I was up until five o'clock in the morning).

I'm too busy due to my upcoming move to write up proper episode reviews, but here are a few thoughts.

As always, if you comment, please don't mention any spoilers (even minor ones) for anything past 6x06.

I've watched through 5x04; please avoid mentioning spoilers (including character development or revelations of character backstory) for any episodes past that. Thanks!

I've only commented on episodes that, well, I had something to say about. DS9 also has quite a few episodes that I like well enough but that don't really inspire thoughts.

Sorry to be spammy. I haven't been feeling well for the last few days, so I've been staying at home mainlining DS9. And then I get the urge to talk about it.

I just finished "Improbable Cause"/"The Die Is Cast." spoilers )

I just watched DS9 3x14, "Heart of Stone."

I have a feeling that watching the DS9 two-parter "Past Tense" in 2010 is a very different experience than watching it in 1994 would have been. The details that probably seemed alarmist and preachy then--official ghettos full of the long-term unemployed and the untreated mentally ill--look eerily like prophecy now. I could picture 2024 being exactly like that. Except actually the episode might be too optimistic, because the people in the Sanctuary district had guaranteed food and at least some medical care.

Also, watching "Past Tense" as someone going through long-term unemployment? Scary as hell.

Enthusiastic promotion by [livejournal.com profile] eponymous_rose finally convinced me to give Star Trek: Deep Space 9 a try. I'm almost to the end of S2 (I watched "The Maquis" last night), and I'm enjoying it, although I don't think it's going to become my favorite show ever.

thoughts, with spoilers for S1 and S2, under the cut )
