I had a bizarre dream last night--I won't bore you with most of it except to say that it featured Margaret Thatcher attempting a comeback as a Labour Party candidate and worrying that she wouldn't be accepted. WTF, brain?

Anyway, at one point in the dream I was on a bus and there was a song playing on the sound system. It was by Morrissey, singing a duet with another man, and it was the most beautiful song about lost love. When I woke up all I could remember of it was the phrase "myrrh in the wine," which Google tells me doesn't occur in any song but is probably a Biblical reference. (A Roman soldier offered Jesus wine mixed with myrrh, or in some versions gall, at the crucifixion; this is a story I knew in my childhood and encountered again when I read the bible--well, some of it--as a graduate student, so it must have been floating around my subconscious even though I didn't quite consciously recognize the reference.) Anyway, I'm awfully disappointed that this song doesn't exist, because in the dream it was wonderful and probably my favorite song ever.
