I specifically said, at the top of the post, that I have given blanket permission (with some conditions) for people to podfic my stories.
Anyway, to address your more substantive points: first of all, I think it seldom if ever happens that two people podfic the same story. And if they did, the average podfic listener would probably only listen to one version. It's not like, say, Shakespeare productions, where fans go to tons of them and take pleasure precisely in the small or large variations in performance. Alas, I am not Shakespeare and I doubt anyone is that interested in my stories.
What's more likely is that someone listens to one podfic, and--if they're primarily a podfic fan--may not even read the original text. The podfic is my story to that person, including any changes to my intended tone etc. created by the performance. Obviously a reading of my story against my intentions is possible from the text too, but with podfic there's a middle-person, a layer of interpretation being inserted before my story even gets to the listener. I don't know if you're a fanfic writer, but surely you can see how that could make writers uncomfortable?
