When Bear was introduced I feared a lot of "dog is adorably almost-human" stuff. And the show does a bit of that, but not enough to bug me. Mostly Bear's role has been to be (a) a guard dog, (b) Finch's security blanket, and (c) the symbol of all Finch and Reese's Inexpressible Feelings about each other.
