RQG RPF

In the last couple of days I've listened to two Rusty Quill Gaming specials ("Fiasco" and "Jason Statham's Big Vacation") and in both of them, Ben has declared that his character is the boyfriend of Alex's (also male) character/NPC. I am amused by this.

Even more so since both specials date from roughly the period when Magnus was really, really taking off, which must have felt a little weird for longtime RQG folks like Ben. My ridiculous brain has manufactured a titanic unspoken struggle between Ben and Jonny for Alex's affections, Ben of course being the faithful partner who's been there since the days when they were struggling unknowns, while Jonny is the shiny new talent luring Alex onto the dangerous paths of fame and fortune. Poor Ben is reduced to role-playing his pleas for affection, while Jonny finds himself rethinking what he wants to do with Martin's arc . . .


(Yes, I do have a crush on everyone involved with Rusty Quill. But mostly Alex.)

See, I feel that if you're gonna go the RPF route, the Ben/Alex main campaign hate-ship is right there. *g*

Do you listen to Stellar Firma? There's an episode involving a table-top RPG with truly terrible GM-ing, and the whole thing feels like deeply affectionate mockery of RQG in general and Alex in particular.
