Sunday six

kindkitIt's that time again. Six sentences (actually more, as usual) from my WIP, which is now a bit over 16,000 words. It started out as a drabble idea.
Ed and Stede, post-duel:
"Do I look like a doctor?"
"You look like a man who's survived being run through. Dozens of times, you said, and I saw the scars."
"Yeah, well, I have a very effective Spanish good luck charm." His hand went to it automatically, and then ran up the chain to the clasp. "Maybe you should borrow it."
"Ed, I can't take your good luck." He was smiling, all bright in the sunlight from the window. "I expect that I'll have a share in it while you're here. I mean, anything happening to the ship happens to you too. While you're here."
Ed and Stede, post-duel:
