narrative (and other) kinks

Inspired by this post from
damned_colonial, I've drawn up a list of my story kinks. This includes narrative kinks, character kinks, relationship kinks, and plain old kink kinks. I've tried to be fairly strict in terms of limiting it to definite kinks and not just "stuff I like."
The list isn't exhaustive, and I may add to it as I think of more things.
Narrative Kinks
Character Kinks
Relationship Kinks
Kink Kinks
I hope lots of you will make your own lists; I'd love to read them.

The list isn't exhaustive, and I may add to it as I think of more things.
Narrative Kinks
- Use of "documents" (e.g. letters, reports, journalism, quotations from fake books)
- Footnotes
- Metafiction
- Non-linear structure
- Wibbly-wobbly timey-wimey stuff
- Worldbuilding, especially cultural
- The perfect detail
- Strong evocation of place or time (in a non-infodump way); I especially love it when characters in historical-setting fandoms conceptualize their sexuality in recognizably premodern ways
- Happy but imperfect endings
- Wit, especially in dialogue
- Literary allusions (so long as they add something and aren't just showing off)
- Unexpected metaphors, especially drawn from science
- Libraries, especially magical ones
- Sff worlds in which being queer is no big deal
Character Kinks
- Multiple selves, whether that's literally multiple versions of a person (e.g. the Doctor's regenerations, Jamie Madrox's duplicates, Sam Vimes meeting his younger self), multiple and not-always compatible identities (e.g. Magneto's many names), or identities that are in some way imitative or explicitly performative (Jack Harkness and original!Jack Harkness, Evey becoming V)
- Storytellers, fantasists, harmless liars
- Cynics and ironists
- Depressed characters
- Repressed characters
- Intellectuals (who may or may not be scholars)
- Unconventional masculinity
- Androgynous or non-gender-normative self-presentation (Oz is probably the best example)
Relationship Kinks
- Significant (15+ years) age difference between romantic partners
- Real-world power or status differential between romantic partners that's not duplicated in their sexual relationship
- Ex-lovers with fraught histories (Magneto and Xavier, Giles and Ethan)
- Ex-lovers reuniting, with difficulty and pain, after years apart
- Intense devotion, whether in the form of service (Drumknott and Vetinari, Bunter and Lord Peter), tight twosomes (the Eighth Doctor and Fitz), or stalkery obsession (Ethan Rayne)
- Love/hate
- Unspoken or indirectly expressed affection
- Non-condescending protectiveness
- Male-female friendship
Kink Kinks
- Tentacles (sentient creatures ONLY)
- Aggressive seduction (fantasy dubcon, basically; whether this is a kink or a squick depends greatly on the characters, the writing, and my mood)
- Gentle dominance focused on giving the other partner pleasure
- A character experiencing sexual pleasure for the first time
- Sexual reluctance or anxiety that's overcome, at least to a degree, by a partner's careful attention
- One partner restraining the other (e.g. holding their arms down)
- Improvised bondage
- Rope bondage where the visual aesthetic is important
- Finger-sucking
- Kissing of bare feet (not toe-sucking so much, although that's okay)
- Partners undressing each other
- Biting/bruising/leaving marks
- Touching/kissing of scars
- Piercings/tattoos (if this makes sense for the character)
I hope lots of you will make your own lists; I'd love to read them.
