kindkit: Rupert Giles drinking a mug of tea and reading (Buffy: Giles and tea)
I realize that being locked down at home is hard for people, but I still kind of envy the folks who are on (paid) leave from their jobs. (Only paid leave. People who have been laid off or placed on unpaid furloughs are in an awful position.) I would like to bake and play silly games and even give my apartment a thorough clean.

This post brought to you by Tiredness.

There is good news, which is that due to a new city ruling that staffing levels for non-healthcare essential workers have to be low enough that the workers can maintain a 6-foot distance at all times, my job is starting to schedule people for 4 days a week but pay them for 5. It sort of doesn't apply to me, because of what I'm doing, but I think I've successfully talked my way into being allowed to work from home one day a week. I'll be doing some work, checking emails and other admin stuff, but it's not likely to take anything like the 8 hours I'll be paid for. (Which my boss knows and has agreed to, so I won't have to go through the whole "pretend to work" think, which is harder than actually working.)
