Also, this is probably not a great time to realize that I should have nominated 20th Century CE RPF, specifically Kaiser Wilhelm II and his bestie Philip, Prince of Eulenberg, whose nickname for the Kaiser was "darling" and who in 1908 was involved in a massive gay scandal. Oh, the pain of missed opportunities. Because someone would certainly have written it, right?
