That pie sounds delicious, but sadly pie weather is definitely finished here. Do you have butchers in the US rather than meat counters? They should be able to give you some pork fat cheaply (sadly, our lovely butcher was in hospital this week - he's out now but we had to buy beef for our stirfry at the supermarket, at twice the price and half the quality).
Those Bedfordshire Clangers sound awesome! Are you meant to start at the savoury end and eat until you get to dessert?
Our Christmas stock also came in, but since we don't have corporate, we just gave in and started putting it on the shelves, and even managed to nick a new shelf from the post office, which just moved two shops down the street. Small town life works out well, sometimes!
