Baking! :D I've also been making apple pies recently. (There's an apple tree in the garden at work and the other week there was an email round to announce that someone had given the tree a wee shake so there were apples in the kitchen. Those of use who are into baking fell upon them gleefully.) I made chaussons de pommes (which are essentially little puff pastry pillows filled with apple sauce) to share with my backshift compatriots and little apple tarts as road trip breakfast for my derby girls. (I even managed to assemble pastry lattice work for the tops of my tarts so I'm dead chuffed with myself.) I've still got some apple sauce left so I'm thinking of having a bash at muffins with a apple filling centre.
