Marcus's bible

I just spent half an hour trying to figure out which translation of the bible Marcus quotes from, without much of a result. It doesn't seem to be any of the authorized Catholic versions, and I'm beginning to think it must be the King James Version. And that's just weird, because the KJV is a Protestant bible. If it is the KJV, the showrunners probably picked it because the language is so stately, and it has acquired a sort of status in fiction as the bible by being used in so much fiction.
On the other hand, I wouldn't put it past Marcus to have in his head a personal bible cobbled together from the bits and pieces he likes best from various translations, with improvements by himself.
