kindkitI should be at work right now, but I'm not, because my car is currently stuck in the middle of a crime scene. As in, there's a dead body in the parking lot about five feet away from it. Apparently he was shot, because the cops asked if I'd heard any gunshots last night. (There are screens around the body, but I live on the third floor and saw over the top of them on my way downstairs. Luckily he was still partly concealed and I didn't see anything gory.)
I don't remember hearing anything, and I'd have expected to hear a shot that close. I guess it's possible I woke up but went right back to sleep and don't remember.
I should be able to get out and go to work in about 45 minutes to an hour. I really hope my car isn't in any way evidence.
It all feels very weird. I've lived most of my adult life in high-crime areas, but while I've experienced property crime (apartment burgled, car stolen) this is the first time someone's been murdered where I live.
