I almost forgot it was Sunday. (I took a long weekend for my birthday and I keep finding myself confused about what day it is.)
Anyway, here's an excerpt from the WIP, the first draft of which is nearly done.
A bit of Buttons' past, under the cut.
Her name was Dwi. She had long black hair and delicate wrinkles around her eyes. She was beautiful. She made him hungry.
He could feel the power in her, different from his, roiling like stormclouds heavy with rain. The vastness of her. It was a relief to know he couldn't hurt her.
People said she could change anything. She'd changed herself. At sixteen she'd gone alone into the forest and come back many days later with new-grown breasts and a face smoother than shaving could ever make it.
If anyone could lift the curse on him, it was her.
