is Helen Magnus canonically bisexual?

In the last couple of minutes I've seen two different people assert (in relation to the Sanctuary Cage Match thing) that Helen is bisexual. Where are they getting this? Was it actually on the show and I missed it somehow, or is it word of producers who are too chickenshit to depict queerness on the show but want the cred anyway god, or is it fanon?

I'd very much like Sanctuary to have canon queer characters, preferably more than one, but I'm wary of fandom's tendency to assert things as canon that . . . aren't.

She's not - they've never said it. (Unless there's been something said at a con or in a commentary, maybe? But that doesn't usually count as canonical.)

I think she is, but then I think most characters are bisexual. *sighs*

Warehouse 13 was cheesy as fuck, but at least they committed to a bisexual character. Even if she was evil. A bit.

ETA: I actually asked artaxastra where it had been said in canon, because if it was, I really, really want to go and watch that.

penknife said over on LJ that it's word of God; Amanda Tapping has said that Helen has slept with women and in fact had a thing with Amelia Earhart.

I'm with you, though. Word of God is not canon, and isn't remotely an adequate substitute for onscreen representation of LGB characters.

I agree - saying it is so is not the same as beaming it into everyone's living rooms. But artaxastra said that AT wants to have a former girlfriend character in S4, so maybe? And it's SyFy, they already went there with H G Wells in Warehouse 13.

Actually they just confirmed it in canon on friday's episode ... and yes I know this is a really really really old discussion.

Didn't realize WoG was called on to claim it earlier on.
I think it has to do with people who live a really long time or Live forever have a tendency to be believed to have tried everything, and transcended stuff.

I mean Jack Harkness is an Omnisexual and he can't die.
