One of the nice things about being fannishly active again is that I can do fannish memes! This one, called "Frankenstein's meme" because it's patched together from bits of other memes, is stolen from [personal profile] trobadora via my network.

First question, answer, and full list of questions under the cut )

So much I want to do! So little time!

Here's a list, alphabetical by fandom:

1) Listen to the rest of the radio show Cabin Pressure, which I started listening to last night and found unexpectedly awesome. Yes, my new crush Benedict Cumberbatch is in it. He has a sexy gorgeous voice, which although it hasn't yet attained the pinnacle of perfection (i.e. Alan Rickman's voice, and I should note that Cumberbatch does a great Rickman impersonation) should be in that league after another decade or two of mellowing. I wouldn't have thought Cumberbatch could do comedy, but he's awfully good.

2) Rewatch all of Colditz. Write more Colditz fic.

3) Finish what I can only call "the meta RPF story about two people you've never heard of unless you are [personal profile] halotolerant or me."

4) Rewatch all of Sherlock again (skipping most of "the Blind Banker"). Read more Sherlock fic. Write fic about Mycroft, because I love him.

5) Work on a sequel to my Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy movieverse story. The one that had all of about seven readers. The sequel will be long and complex to write.

6) Re-read all the Tintin comics with Haddock in them. Write more Tintin fic. In particular, write porn.

If only I was less lazy didn't need rest . . .

Er, it's been a while since I've made a fannish post, hasn't it? My job and other things have kept me pretty busy for a while.

I'm still all about the RPF at the moment. In a way it's not that surprising: over the last few years I've been feeling increasingly dissatisfied with scripted media, because too often, stories I start out loving go horribly wrong. More on RPF versus scripted fandoms )

One of the good things about becoming interested in an RPF fandom or two is that there's the potential for endless canon. It helps offset my tendency to devour the entirety of a fandom (canon and fanfic) in about two weeks and then get bored.

One of the bad things is that you find yourself thinking, "Huh, maybe I should get a Twitter account after all."

*headdesk*

I promise I will never use it for evil (e.g., posting about what I had for lunch). I'll probably never post anything at all. But for a long time I've vaguely wanted to follow Simon Pegg and Nick Frost, and yesterday I learned that Richard Fidler (formerly of DAAS) has a Twitter; that was the tipping point.

Unfortunately, there'll probably be ice skating in hell (on the road paved with frozen lawyers, natch1) before Paul McDermott gets a Twitter. But I can hope.

1Good Omens. If you haven't read it, you're missing out.
