haven't we all? (I think the reason I ended up reading "literature" was that there were fewer sequences in each volume that were like the ones in SFF. of course, I may be kidding myself about that.)

Well, if you follow the link at the top of the SFF joke post, you'll see the original inspiration, which is jokes about male literary novelists. The tropes are slightly different, but we've all read some of those novels, too.
